Recently life presented me with a rather brusque reminder of mortality……..crushing chest pain.
A quick run to the emergency room at three in the morning and the usual hand wringing, I.V. insertion, EKG taking, oxygen giving and whisking off to intensive care, while you try to remember if you did wear good underwear or not (now is not the time to take a peek; they are all watching) and if you turned off the coffee pot, to await the arrival of the cardiac catheterization laboratory personnel and most importantly …………… the cardiologist!
I am one of the lucky ones who has been under the guidance and care of Robert N. Schnitzler, M.D. My outcome was great (hence this blog post), once again the amazing and wonderful Dr. Schnitzler was able to place a stent in a coronary artery and avoid the splitting of the chest by cardiovascular surgeons!…………………..whew, it was close!
I am so lucky to be friends with his Cardiac Nurse Specialist, Victoria who helps guide me through the forest of dense and confusing medical undergrowth!
Upon my return home, I find that Airports Made Simple has nominated me for The Versatile Blogger award. …………………….. made my day, I must say.
