Humility is defined as the quality of being modest and respectful
It is seen as a virtue, being connected with egolessness
So keeping that in mind, let’s see what some people think of themselves……
David Lee Roth
“I’m not conceited. Conceit is a fault and I have no faults”
“I’m not an egomaniac like a lot of people say. But I am the world’s best dancer, that’s for sure!”
“I say I’m Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin all wrapped up into one.
If I die early….I’ll be just like those guys.”
“I’m the Connie Francis of Rock ‘n’ Roll.”
“I mean, it’s unheard of for somebody to hit 70 home runs, so I’m like in awe of myself right now!”
“It was God who made me so beautiful. If I weren’t, then I’d be a teacher.”
“I am a great mayor; I am an upstanding Christian man; I am an intelligent man: I am a deeply educated man:
I am a humble man.”
Here is one person the aforementioned were never in the room with…..
Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or might be imagined.
Reality is often contrasted with what is imaginary, delusional, only in the mind, dreams, what is abstract, what is false, or what is fictional.
The truth refers to what is real, while falsity refers to what is not.
It’s called the alternate reality…. Love this post 🙂
Thanks………..yes very, very alternate!!
good post. Of course I don’t think any of these people would realize how they sound. But that’s what makes them, ummmm special. 😉
People sure are self centered when they are in the public’s eye all the time.
Yes, I think they begin to believe all the “press” about themselves and forget that they are mere mortals like the rest of us.
Am I going to Italy….seriously it IS all about me right?????
Love being one of your flying monkeys
We are close to Italy……….but to ensure it you must bring your checkbook to the store! Seriously very close!
Thank you for the reality check…I have just come back from California…Texas is reality for me or should I say south Texas is humility for me. Maybe I should just have more wine… This is an excellent post!
The virtue most needed in our time, and the one least likely to be encountered —
