When we heard that Priscilla Queen of the Desert was playing
at the Palace Theatre on Broadway, we knew a trip to New York was on!
This show is sooooooooooooooooo much fun and represents the highest of camp.
………….and we got a poster signed by the entire cast!
We booked a room at the Hilton and were lucky enough to get a room on the top floor with a most fantastic view.
We looked out upon the New Year’s Eve ball
and so enjoyed magnificent views of the city……….
with the view downward just as wonderful
hold on Dorothy we are not in Kansas anymore……
Did you know that Times Square was formerly known as Longacre Square, until it was renamed in April 1904
after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the newly erected Times Building,
which is now called One Times Square.
We so enjoyed the lights – sounds – most of the smells and the excitement of Times Square…………..as we walked about I could not help but think of Rebecca Romijn Stamos as she said:
“I still can’t believe that I walk down the runway once a year in high heels and underwear for Victoria’s Secret. And that this is worthy of being broadcast on the Sony JumboTron in Times Square.”
oh how I wished to stay a week and see all the wonderful shows………….
We had some wonderful Adana Kabobs at Dervish a marvie Turkish Restaurant in the Theatre District……..
We took a night cruise to see The Statue of Liberty and enjoy the New York Skyline.
What a wonderful gift from our dear friends – the country of France, without whom we would not exist
It was a marvelous visit and went by much too quickly!
